UPdated Information

Good Afternoon Lions Family,

As many of you are no doubt aware, in recent months, a parent of the club has been in attendance with a past criminal conviction. Whilst It is important to note that there has been no further convictions over the past 17 years, his presence has caused a fair bit of concern amongst the committee and members of the club.

The club has been taking many steps in consultation with both the parent in question and the governing bodies such as BSA and SAPOL to control the situation.

Whilst the Parent has had the Legal right to attend and watch his children play basketball, this has caused distress amongst some of the clubs members.

As such the Parent has voluntarily agreed to step away from Central Districts, and will not attend any club training, game or event for a period of 12 months whilst a more permanent arrangement can be made between the Club and Parent.

I hope that this will alleviate any fears or misgiving that members of the club may have.

If you have any further questions on this subject, please feel free to email your queries to president@lionsbasketball.com.au

Thankyou
Chris Sexton
