We are delighted to announce our Division 1 lead coaches for the 2025/26 Junior District Season. This season we welcome some new faces to the club as we look to continue to develop our coaches and players for the future.

Scott Herriman continues to lead our U10 Boys next season. A true Lion, Scott has 19 years of coaching experience behind him, having previously coached our NBL1 women as well as a number of Division 1 junior teams, and will be invaluable to our U10 Boys program going forwards.

We are thrilled to announce our own NBL1 player, and long term club junior, Miller Drewett as our new U12 boys lead coach. Miller has been assisting our 16 boys Div 1/2 program this year, and has previously assisted numerous teams. Miller was a Div 1 Centrals Junior where he won multiple state championships and represented at Australian Junior Championships. We’re really excited as to what Miller will bring into our U12 boys program

U12G
Phil Sherwood returns to the Den after a few years at Woodville, coaching their U14 Div 2 girls and U12 Div 1 girls in previous years. Phil has previously won an U12 reserve girls state championship for the club. We are excited to have Phil back at the club and continuing to develop our recently growing and improving junior girls program.

Cobi Jones continues in his role with the U14 boys, moving into his 5th season at the Den. Cobi has been a great asset to our junior boys program, providing great experience, having previously coached with Norwood and Southern Tigers, as well as having involvement as an assistant coach for the SA Metro U18 boys.

Jamie moves into the U14 girls role after guiding our U12 girls to the state championship this year. Prior to this he spent 3 years in our U16 girls program. Jamie has a passion for skill and player development and is also a Physiotherapist who has worked with the U17 Australian Women’s team and the Emerging Boomers, helping him gain great experience.

We’re super pleased to welcome Josh Bond to The Den. Josh comes to us from the Norwood Basketball Club where he was involved in the Under 18 Div 1/2 boys program. Josh was a Div 1 player growing up at West Adelaide who also played NBL1 (premier league) for North Adelaide and West Adelaide before attending Des Moines Area Community College in the USA. Josh has also been an assistant coach for the men’s NBL1 (premier league) program at North Adelaide for a number of years.

Thane Burdon moves from our U16 Div 2 girls into our lead U16 girls coach. Prior to this year, Thane coached at North Adelaide, where he has experience coaching U12 boys and girls, U14 and U16 girls, and then the U18 div 2 girls. Thane believes in building and developing both players and teams skills by trying to improve basketball IQ, and creating and positive and rewarding environment.

We are excited to announce that our Junior Coaching Director Nathan will be leading the U18 boys program this season. Nathan has been involved in the SA country state program, and has attended Australian Junior Championships as an assistant coach for a number of years now. Nathan has a number of years experience coaching Div 1 teams, and we are excited to have him leading our young men and continuing their development.

She has an extensive coaching history which includes coaching many Div 1 junior teams from U12s to U18s at West Adelaide as well as being an NBL1 assistant.
