RESPECT from everyone
14 Oct by Steve Lindner
Hi all
As the season for both Central Districts and Northern Roar are about to tip off, it’s time for the reminder to everyone about RESPECT.
Our club is run by volunteers, from admin through to coaches and Team Managers and everyone is contributing an enormous amount of hours to make the club run and to improve it.
Volunteers are also getting harder to find as everyone’s life gets busier. So think before you speak in a tone that may be considered inappropriate, even if you are having a bad day, don’t make it bad for everyone, Everyone at the club is trying their best, so lets respect those that are going above and beyond to assist the club.
Officials are also getting harder and harder to find to participate in our sport, and the data shows that most who do leave, leave because of abusive players and parents/spectators. Obviously if you haven’t got anything nice to say don’t say it, we are sure that SSO’s and Ref’s will be extra alert to bad behaviour early in the season, and they will report and eject if need be. Everyone makes mistakes, admin does, ref’s do, coaches do, players make lots, and that’s OK, we learn more from mistakes! So let’s just be tolerant and show what a great club is all about. This season just think about the NEXT PLAY, we can’t change our errors, and we shouldn’t dwell on them, pick ourselves up and concentrate on the NEXT PLAY.
Have a great pre-season / grading season and enjoy the game, whether watching or being actively involved. Cheers Steve
