📣 Introducing the CDBC NBL1 Development Academy 🙌🏀 🦁

26 May by Jamie Phillips

Last night a selected group of U18/16s attended the 1st of 5 sessions, of our inaugural NBL1 Development Academy. Designed to create a pathway program from juniors to NBL1, this program each year will select 8-10 junior girls and boys to learn skills, concepts and expectations required to pursue a possible NBL1 future!

Both groups will also have an opportunity to play another club pathway program before an NBL1 game later in the season. More info to follow!

We are extremely lucky to have these programs lead by experienced and elite coaches Tracy York and Rob Gaze. Both are extremely experienced coaches at both junior and senior level, and both will be able to provide extensive knowledge and opportunity to these groups!

Player were selected via our Junior Coaching Director and coaches. Priority has been given to top age U18s as they embark on a pathway towards NBL1, with other U18s and to age U16s players selected on SA Metro/SA Country HP exposure and performance. Junior players already involved at NBL1 level were not selected as they have already been exposed to NBL1 pathway. We are only able to select 8-10 players to keep the group small and we can only have a certain number playing games against other clubs.

If you were unlucky to miss out this year, there will be another opportunity next year as we look to continue, and possibly expand and grow the pathway program!
